These terms apply to every Serve Society lesson you book, whether a weekly subscription or a single lesson, in any cohort or at any location. By checking the box at checkout, you agree to them.
1. Your lesson subscription
- Your assigned lesson: one group lesson each week with your cohort, on the day, at the time and at the location shown on your checkout page and in your welcome email. That stays your lesson for as long as your subscription is active.
- Price: the weekly price shown on your checkout page, billed weekly to the card you use at checkout.
- Changes to your lesson: if we need to permanently change your lesson’s day, time or location, we’ll tell you at least 14 days ahead. You can cancel before the change takes effect with no further charges.
- Your cohort: you start with the cohort you signed up for. Your coach may suggest moving you to a different cohort or level if it suits your game better, but we won’t move you without your agreement.
- Who sells it: lessons are sold by Serve Society Social Club LLC. 15% of every lesson supports Serve Society Inc., a 501(c)(3) that funds free tennis for kids in Miami’s underserved communities. Your lesson fee is a payment for a service, not a donation, and is not tax-deductible.
- Age: you must be 18 or older to sign up.
Why we recommend a weekly schedule. Tennis is a timing sport. Your swing, footwork and contact point improve through repetition, and for beginners a week is about as long as you can go before the feel starts to fade. Players who come every week build on the last lesson, while players who come every few weeks spend part of each session relearning the basics. Playing weekly with the same cohort and coach also means your group moves through the program together, toward being able to rally and hold your own in group play.
Prefer to book week by week? You can buy a single lesson for $50 instead of subscribing. Subscribers pay $35 per lesson, a 30% saving, in exchange for committing to a weekly spot. Single lessons are paid when you book and follow the same missed-lesson rules in Section 3. If we cancel a single lesson, you choose a makeup lesson or a refund.
2. Billing and cancelling
How billing works. Your subscription renews every week on the same day of the week you signed up. Each charge pays for the next lesson after that charge. Your next charge date is always shown in your billing portal, linked in your welcome email.
The 7-day rule. Courts and coaches are booked a week ahead, so to stop being charged for a lesson, cancel at least 7 days before it. If you cancel with less notice, you are still charged for the upcoming lesson, and you will not be charged for any lesson after that.
How to cancel. Cancel any time through the billing portal link in your welcome email. Your subscription stays active until the end of the week you’ve paid for, then stops. You do not need to email us.
If a payment fails. Stripe retries the charge and emails you a link to update your card. You can’t join a lesson until that week is paid. If the payment still fails after the retries, your subscription ends and your spot may be offered to someone else.
| You cancel | Next lesson | Charged for that lesson? | Charged after that? |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8 days before | Sunday, Nov 15 | No | No |
| 7 days before | Sunday, Nov 15 | No | No |
| 1 day before | Sunday, Nov 15 | Yes | No |
Dates in the table are examples.

3. Missed lessons
We understand you may not make every lesson. Because courts and coaches are reserved in advance, we can’t refund or credit a lesson you miss.
Pass your spot to a friend. If you know you’ll miss a lesson, you’re welcome to give or sell your spot to a friend. You get something back for the week, and someone else gets to play. To pass on a spot:
- Tell us in the cohort’s WhatsApp group or by email at least 24 hours before the lesson, with your friend’s name.
- Your friend accepts these terms and the waiver in Section 5 before stepping on court. We’ll send them a link.
- Any payment between you and your friend is between the two of you. Serve Society doesn’t handle it.
Your friend takes your place for that lesson only. Your subscription continues as normal.
4. When we cancel a lesson
If we cancel, you don’t lose the lesson.
| Reason | What happens |
|---|---|
| Rain, lightning or unsafe heat | A makeup lesson within 2 weeks. If none of the makeup times work for you, a $35 credit toward your next weekly charge |
| The coach or court is unavailable | A makeup lesson within 2 weeks, or a $35 credit toward your next weekly charge |
We announce cancellations in the WhatsApp group as early as we can.
Credits apply automatically to your next weekly charge, so you simply aren’t charged that week. If you’ve already cancelled and have no upcoming charge, we refund that week to your card instead. Refunds usually take 5 to 10 business days to appear.
5. Waiver and assumption of risk
Tennis is a physical activity. By joining a lesson, you agree that:
- You understand the risks. Playing tennis carries risks including falls, strains, sprains, being struck by a ball or racket, heat exhaustion and dehydration, and other injuries.
- You are fit to play. You are in good enough health to take part, and you will tell your coach about any condition or injury that could affect you on court. If you are unsure, check with your doctor first.
- You take part voluntarily and accept those risks.
- Release. To the fullest extent allowed by Florida law, you release Serve Society Social Club LLC, Serve Society Inc., their members, directors, coaches, volunteers and the venue from claims for injury, loss or damage arising from your participation, except where caused by gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
- Medical care. If you are injured and can’t respond, you authorize us to call emergency services. You are responsible for any medical costs.
- Your belongings. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
6. Everything else
On court. Wear court shoes, bring water, and follow the coach’s instructions and the venue’s rules. We may remove anyone whose behavior is unsafe or disrespectful, without a refund for that lesson.
Photos and video. We sometimes film or photograph lessons for @servesociety.club and servesociety.club. If you’d rather not appear, tell your coach or reply to your welcome email and we’ll keep you out of posted content.
Messages and your details. By signing up, you agree to receive lesson updates by email and in your cohort’s WhatsApp group. You can leave the group at any time, but you may then miss cancellation notices. We share your name, email and phone number with Serve Society Inc. so it can send you occasional news about its youth tennis programs. You can unsubscribe from those emails at any time. We never sell your details.
Changes. We may update these terms, the schedule or the price. We’ll give at least 14 days’ notice of any price change, so you can cancel first if you choose.
